Item Description
Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a great & unique piece of WWI Trench art, made from shrapnel recovered from the mountainous Italian front. Many different pieces of shell fragments were welded together with a Carcano round and projectile also added for use as a desktop picture frame. The set is rather macabre, but a very symbolic piece of WWI history.
The set measures 7½ x 6 x 3” and there is room for a roughly 2½ x 3½” photograph to be mounted behind the frame. The bottom of the set has felt padding attached to protect surfaces.
A very interesting piece of Trench art, ready for further research and display.
