Original Items: Only One Set of 2 Available. The Corps of Volunteer Troops was a Fascist Italian expeditionary force of military volunteers, which was sent to Spain to support the Nationalist forces under General Francisco Franco against the Spanish Republic during the Spanish Civil War, 1936–39.

The medals in this lot:
- (Italian) Spanish Civil War 17 Julio 1936 Medal: An Italian Commemorative Medal of the Spanish Campaign. The circular bronze medal features a naked, sword wielding figure on horseback and a winged figure of Victory leading the horse with a laurel wreath in her other hand. A serpent, a hammer, and a sickle are being trodden underfoot. " GUERRA POR / LA LIBERACION / Y UNIDAD DE / ESPAÑA /17 JULIO 1936 " is marked on the reverse with a winged head above and a Spanish set of crowned arms below. A map of Spain is visible in the background. An integral ribbon bar fixes a red, yellow and black striped ribbon to the medal.

- (Italian) Spanish Civil War Volunteers Commemorative Medal: A fine commemorative medal for the volunteers of the spanish civil war; inscribed “War for Spanish Unity” on the obverse and “War Volunteers” on the reverse. The Medal was awarded to Italian volunteer and military personnel who had rendered a minimum of three months of service in the Spanish Civil War. It was originally founded as an unofficial award in 1938 but later made an official award by the Italian government in 1942.
