  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is a very niche model of sword, an Italian 1888 Cavalry Officer’s sword. This sword dates to the Pre-World War I period. Overall condition is fair, with heavy wear to the hilt and blade. The blade decoration is heavily worn and shaved down from sanitizing of the blade, and there is no maker’s mark.

The guard is heavily worn with loss of finish, and the grip shows wear but is still present. The 32 1/2” blade is in fair condition but does have some heavy oxidation and wear to the plating and appears to have been “sanitized”, the blade edge being worn down so it couldn’t be used. The blade shows heavy wear but was kept well enough in its scabbard. The overall length is 38”. The hilt is a bit loose and the blade appears diagonal over the crossguard. The top of the guard is stamped 51.

The original 34” scabbard shows heavy wear to the plating but is still intact with its two suspension rings. A very worn example but one that has survived a lot. The included troddel knot is in great shape for its age but does have minor fraying of the material.

Comes ready for further research and display.

    Approximate Dimensions:
    Blade Length: 32 ½”
    Overall length: 38“
