Original Items: Only One Set Available. This is a fantastic WWII Imperial Japanese Flag set. The set consists of a 24 ½” x 29 ½” National Flag constructed of what appears to be cotton with the center “meatball” its own separate piece of cotton. The set features the original box with the “ball” flagpole topper.
It looks like this set of flags was meant to be flown on special days or holidays, and the lid to the case has three Kanji characters which are now too worn to read, under the Japanese national flag. The closure for the box is broken as the loop for the hook is missing.
This is a wonderful set and in great condition for the age. The flag still retains the corner tabs in good condition, the flag topper has denting and is missing much of the brass-colored finish.
Comes ready for further research and display.
