Analog voltmeters move a pointer across a scale in proportion to the voltage of the circuit. A voltmeter in a circuit diagram is represented by the letter V in a circle.

This is a great lot of three voltage meters dated 1941 and 1942. These were widely used by the Imperial Japanese Navy during WWII, as there were numerous electrical circuits and devices on ships that needed routine maintenance and repair. Two of the voltage meters are marked with the Naval anchor denoting use by the Navy, and the third is a hand crank variant. All three have heavy service wear and we cannot guarantee functionality.

The first is dated Showa 16 11, for November 1941. This one is Navy marked with an anchor followed by …3. This one measures 7 x 8 x 3 ¼”.

The second is dated Showa 17 9 for September 1942. This one is also Navy marked along with a maker’s embossed marking, YEW. This one measures 7 x 7 1/2 x 3 ¼”.

The third is dated Showa 17 8 for August 1942. This one has a flip up cover for the meter, and a hand crank which looks to charge the device. There are two carrying handles which combine. There is cracking in the wooden housing and chipping/material loss in the base for the attachments. This one measures 9 ¼ x 4 ¼ x 5 ¼”.

A great lot of voltage meters, ready for display.
