Original Item. Only One Available. This is an outstanding Japanese Navy Mobile Phone Type 2, one of the scarcest Japanese field phones of World War II. The phone has a great housed bell at the top which rings a bit whenever the phone is moved. The headset is fully retained and still attached, and the phone has a great overall patina.
The phone retains its data plate which translates as Mobile Phone Type 2, Weight 5.5, with a date of Showa 18 9 for September, 1943. There is serial number 25651. It is marked at the bottom with an anchor, which denotes it as used by the Imperial Japanese Navy.
The phone retains the crank handle which is integrated into the side and only appears as a knob at first, but is pulled out and folds out to be cranked. A great detail.
The phone measures roughly 8¾ x 4 x 7½”. Comes ready for further research and display!
