Original Imperial Japanese WWI WWII Medal Collection

Item Description

Original Items; Only One Set Available. This is a set of World War Two and World War One Medals all offered in very good condition as follows:

- Japanese Taisho Enthronement Medal with ribbon
The Taisho Emperor actually ascended to the throne upon the death of his father in 1912. The enthronement ceremonies, though, were held in 1915. This medal commemorates that event, and it was freely issued to people throughout the country who participated in the celebration ceremonies. However, it doesn't seem to be as common as the later Showa Emperor Enthronement Commemorative of 1928. The gold mum crest is an attached piece.
OBVERSE: Imperial banners with 'Banzai' written within each. Branches of cherry and orange blossoms.
REVERSE: Inscribed 'Taisho 4 [1915] November, Enthronement Commemorative Medal.'

- 1904 Russo-Japanese War Medal.
Military commemorative medal for the 1904 war against the Russian Empire. The Russo-Japanese War of 1904-05 erupted due to the conflicted interests of the 2 Empires, mainly regarding Korea and Manchuria and ended with decisive Japanese Victory, following the major Russian defeats in the battles of Port Arthur, Yalu River and Yellow Sea. The Medal was established in 1906.

- WW2 Japanese Red Cross Workers Silver Medal

- Japanese 1914-1915 War Medal in original wood case
Established to commemorate the dispatch of Japanese forces to Tsingtao. The attached bar says 'War Medal.' Often confused with the 1914-1920 War Medal. See the differences below. Peterson says that no one could receive both the 1914-15 War Medal and the 1914-20 War Medal, but I have two award documents that show a Navy sailor receiving both.
OBVERSE: Crossed flags and Imperial mum crest. Below are Imperial Paulonia branches.
REVERSE: Inscribed 'Taisho 3-4 [1914-15] War Service.'

- Japanese China Incident War Dispatch Medal with original Case
This is perhaps the most commonly found Japanese medal. Millions were made for those who served in China and it seems that this medal was awarded to just about every soldier no matter where he served. The medal was established in 1939 and abolished in 1946. Bronze with a swivel grip.
OBVERSE: Crossed flags, Imperial mum crest, and a crow.
REVERSE: Mountains, clouds, and waves. Inscribed 'China Incident.'
