Original Items: Only One Set Available. This is a very nice slightly-used pair of Imperial Japanese leather ankle low boots, as issued to other ranks in the Imperial Japanese Army during the Pacific War. The feature stitched leather construction, with stitched on leather soles. The boots are dated 1941, and come with an original set of puttees. The original laces are retained and in good order, still tied and with brass aglets.
The soles of both boots is impressed with maker's details and the year of manufacture, the middle line reading 昭 十 六, for the 16th Year of Showa, or 1941.
Each boot is fitted with five pairs of steel lace eyelets, and the number 107 has been punched into the inner, upper sides of both boots, making this a nice matched pair. The backside of each tongue is stamped with 5, likely the size of the boots.
The original puttees are in great shape and retain their tie straps. They will make for a great display with the boots.
The combination of the matching 107 numbers, 1941-dated Shōwa 16 sole markings, likely size 5 tongue stamps, five-pair steel eyelet construction, stitched leather soles, original laces with brass aglets, and retained puttees makes this a particularly attractive and complete enlisted footwear set.
