Original Imperial Japanese Army WWII Type 98 Sun Pith Helmet - Crushed

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very rough original WWII Japanese Army type 98 tropical sun pith helmet, the interior structure of which has been entirely crushed. Its form is gone and it is very loose. It retains the original pentagonal bevo style cloth embroidered army star insignia to the front, although it is very tattered. Despite this, the helmet retains the original suspension system and original chinstrap. This could still likely display well on a mannequin head.
This example is well marked with original labels inside bearing Japanese kanji characters. There’s also a painted kanji symbol in white. A perfect piece for research. The interior retains the color well, with some discoloration around the brim. The lower suspension band is present with a working buckle. It has a complete functional chin strap.
A very rough but salvageable Japanese pith helmet, ready for further research and display.
