  • Original Item: Only One Available. This 6x25 field glass is WWI manufactured and of superior quality to wartime examples. Small field glasses were highly preferred by German officers due to their convenience. This example still has clear optics and leather carry case. It is nicely marked as follows on the central adjustment:

    Fernglas 08
    No. 94664

Condition definitely shows wear, but these retain the original leather neck strap.

The included leather case is designed to strap to the waist belt and combat suspenders, and was made by E. Leitz, Wetzlar. It still has the original Gebrauchsanweisung für das Fernglas 08 (Instructions for use for the binoculars 08) attached to the inside of the top cover, and on top of this is a fantastic inter-war Reichswehr name tag:

    Unteroffizier
    Stegner
    6. Komp., II. Batl., Reichsw.-Regt. 5.

The leather is in fair shape with heavy wear overall. The securing straps are retained but heavily cracked and crazed, and one of the two belt loop straps is broken off of its knob.

Overall a very nice service-used example of the classic eye piece for German infantry officers during WWI, complete with the correct case!
