Original Items: Only One Available. This is a great original German WWI Mess Kit (Kochgeschirr) with original Eating Utensil (“Goffell”). The mess kit is of the rare enameled variation and retains outstanding markings.
The mess kit retains roughly 90% of its enamel, and is clearly stamped on the rear next to the lid handle:

This denotes 1917 manufacture by the well known German toy maker, Gebrüder Bing A.G.. They produced many war materials from trench lanterns to the extremely scarce Tin Ersatz Pickelhaube helmets, as well as the famous Granatenwerfer 16 Spigot Mortar.
The original Eating Utensil, referred to as a “Goffel” (combining the German word for 'Gabel' (fork) & 'Löffel' (Spoon), is in good service-used condition and still sits in its spot on the interior. Original WWI Manufacture constructed of tinned iron with a riveted pivot point. Rarely are these ever marked.
This is one of the most beautiful German mess kits we have ever seen, and it makes sense that it was made by a toy maker. Comes ready for further research and display!
