Item Description
Original Item. Only One Available. This is a scarce lot of two Model of 1917 German Stielhandgranate handles in very rough “Battlefield found” condition. They are both missing the heads, the bottom caps, and the bead and string. They each stand roughly 10” tall. These are exceptionally rare and far more difficult to find than the WWII M24 version. They are totally inert, and cannot be converted to explosive devices. Like all deactivated ordnance, these handles are Not Available for Export.
The handles are in varying conditions, the first having very clear markings on the side:
5½ Sck-F.A.B.
P.31.1.17
This indicates a manufacture date of January 31st, 1917. This example is nicer overall and the small rod protruding from the top is better intact than the other.
The second handle is in rougher condition with more dings and damage to the body, but some markings can still be seen:
5½ Sck-J.U.B.
The small rod on this example is worn down a lot more.
This is a very beautiful set of 2 M17 Stick grenade handles in battlefield pickup condition, ready for further research and display in your WWI grenade collection.
