  • Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is the war chronicle service document of Friedrich Vätow, Infantry Regiment Nr. 76. These were put together after the war to commemorate the service of Imperial German soldiers as a reminder of their time serving the empire. This example has no glass, but it has two of the soldier’s attached medals, the 1914-1918 Honor Cross and the Kyffhauser War Veterans Commemorative Medal.

Friedrich enlisted on August 5th, 1914, at the very beginning of the war. The document also lists Geiger’s lengthy battle record, including Flanders, Soissons, Aisne, and the Marne. He was discharged on February 18th, 1920.

The frame measures 16 ¾ x 20 ¼” and is in good condition overall despite missing the glass. The two medals in the top right corner really add some character to this piece. Ready for display.
