Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is an exceptionally rare very good condition Imperial German 25th (1st Württemberg) Dragoons Königin Olga’s Reserve Regiment Officer Visor hat (schirmmütze) with original cardboard box.

The visor cap is constructed of light blue wool with white wool band and white piping along with metal cockades and cream colored silk interior lining. Size is approximately US 7 7/8 (55cm). Overall condition is excellent with a few moths nips and expected age.

Also, included is the original round cardboard box which is wonderfully maker marked on the lid as follows:

The box also has original paper tags attached one of which reads 55 for the size in centimeters.

The 25th (1st Württemberg) Dragoons “Queen Olga” (Dragoner-Regiment "Königin Olga“ (1. Württembergisches) Nr. 25) were a cavalry regiment of the Army of Württemberg. The regiment was originally formed in 1806 as Chevau-légers, but reorganized as dragoons in 1870. The regiment took part in the Franco-Prussian war and served with the 7th Cavalry Division in World War I. On 1 May 1919 the regiment was disbanded, with the 1st Squadron/18th Horse bearing its tradition in the new Reichsheer.
