Original Item. Only One Available. This is an outstandingly scarce piece, a visor for an officer of one of three regiments base on the construction. This cap belonged to an officer of the Garde-Ulanen-Regt. Nr.3 (Potsdam) Garde-Korps, the Ulanen-Regt. Graf Haeseler (2. Brandenburgisches) Nr.11(Saarburg) XXI Armee Korps, or the Schleswig-Holsteinisches Ulanen-Regt. Nr.15 (Saarburg) XXI Armee Korps. As this is an M1907/10, the body color is Feldgrau/field grey, as opposed to dark blue.
The front of the cap bears a Black, White and Red Reichskokarde (Imperial Cockade) on the front of the crown, with a Black and Silver Cockade on the cap band for Prussia. The exterior is in very well-worn and slightly stained condition with the yellow cap band showing moderate mothing from over the years. The front also retains a great thin chinstrap held in by two buttons.
The interior shows heavy wear with a black cheesecloth type lining material that shows evidence of past stamps including the size, 59, and other markings that are likely unit or depot stamps, but these are far too faded to read. The sweatband is retained but shows very heavy damage including cracking and loss of material.
A very rare visor cap, ready for further research and display.
