  • Original Item. Only One Available. This is an extravagant Bavarian State Official / Diplomat’s sword from the Pre-WWI to WWI era. The sword has a lovely lion’s head hilt with great gilt across its construction. It has mother-of-pearl grips with a great badge bearing the Bavarian crown on one side. There is a great bullion troddel knot with a Crown over the knot attached to the hilt, and the blade is beautifully fire-blued and gold-inlaid.

The 31 ⅞” blade is in outstanding condition with the fire-bluing almost entirely retained with its original color. The etched panels are very well retained, and bear the motto In Treue Fest on one side. The red felt blade buffer washer is still present. The sword measures 37 ¼ in overall length. There is no maker-mark we can see.

The troddel sword knot is in great condition with the bullion well-retained.

The original brass-bound leather scabbard retains much of its gilt  but the leather shows some rubbing. The scabbard measures 32 ⅜” overall.

An outstanding Bavarian State official’s sword, ready for further research and display.
