Original Item: Only One Available. A fine example of a late 19th Century- Early 20th Century German-Made Bavarian Court Sword by the Munich firm of Lorenz Stanko. The sword itself mimics the appearance of the classic British Model 1796 Officer’s Sword, which traditionally was a very popular design amongst the European market for decades. There is a Bavarian crown on the rain chape.
The Sword features a lovely 32 ⅞” etched blade, decorated on each side with the Bavarian motto “In Treue Fest” surrounded by decorative border and foliage. The ricasso is etched:
LORENZ
STANKO
MÜNCHEN
The very tip of the blade is a bit dented. The overall length is 38 ¼”. The grip is wire-wrapped sharkskin in great shape.
The scabbard is standard brass-mounted leather in good shape with a long frog button. It measures 33 ⅛” though there is a bend in the center which may be a repaired break. Due to leather shrinkage, the scabbard doesn’t cover the last half inch of the blade.
Ready to display.
