  • Original Item: Only One Available. Here we have a very nice example of a Model 1932 Royal Hungarian Air Force Officer Pilot Dagger, complete with the original brass scabbard. These were carried during ceremonial occasions by pilots and senior officers who had been active flyers previously. These are extremely scarce. This is the first example we have offered with its original hanger.

The dagger has a lovely Eagle's head pommel, ribbed black bakelite grip, and brass crossguard. The Eagle on the cross guard is the correct gold for high ranked officers, but it is a bit loose. The hilt has a scabbard release button on the opposite side from the great wing guard. The 8 1/2" blade is nickel-plated and was never etched or engraved. There are no markings but there is some minor wear to the plating.

The scabbard is the standard type seen, made of lacquered polished brass. It has the Royal Coat of Arms of Hungary inside a wreath embossed onto the scabbard. The two hanger rings are present, and the extremely scarce black knit hanger is retained with the buckles and hook. There are some stitch repairs.

Condition is very good, with the expected wear of age.  A seldom seen naval dagger, ready to add to your collection!
