  • Original Item: Only One Available. Here we have a very nice example of a Royal Hungarian Nav Dress Dagger, complete with the original brass scabbard. These were carried during ceremonial occasions and were not intended for combat.

The dagger has a lovely “Sailor’s Not” style helmet pommel, ribbed ivory like grip, and brass crossguard featuring the Hungarian Coat of Arms. The hilt has a scabbard release button on the opposite side from the guard. The 11 ¼” blade has a lovely “gold” inlay of the Hungarian Coat of Arms and an anchor insignia on the opposite. Lower down on the blade towards the tip, there appears to be a title, name and a 1937 date. We believe this to be either an early Pre War era blade or an extremely early war example.

The scabbard is the standard type seen, made of lacquered polished brass. It has the Naval Anchor insignia embossed on the top with an image of Zeus holding a trident at the bottom towards the drag.

Condition is very good, with the expected wear of age. A seldom seen dagger, ready to add to your collection!
