Original German WWII Wehrmacht Verbandkasten Wooden First Aid Chest with Wartime Medical Contents and WaA727 Label

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice original German WWII Wehrmacht Verbandkasten, or armed forces first-aid chest, retaining a substantial quantity of wartime medical supplies inside. The wooden case measures approximately 13 ¾ x 7 ½ x 4 inches and is finished in an ordnance-tan paint, with a red cross inside a white circle on the lid beneath the faded marking Verbandkasten. The set contains numerous original bandages and gauze dressings, several still in period wrappers with German manufacturer markings, together with an empty small glass bottle, a tongue depressor, and other surviving medical supplies.
They are contained in a classic, very good condition German WWII issue first aid Verbandkasten (First Aid Kit) wooden case, which measures 13 3/4" x 7 1/2" x 4. The case features a carry handle on one end, and is finished in a nice ordnance tan paint, with the medic red cross in a white circle on the top under the faded text Verbandkasten. The side with the handle is inscribed Skalpel in pencil.
The case does show some heavy age and use, however it still has the internal contents label, correctly marked Inhaltsverzeichnis und Gebrauchsanweisung (Table of contents and Instructions for use). It does show some staining and degradation, with some areas now illegible. There is a Waffenamt ink stamp on the label, WaA727. The latches are still present and lock securely.
This example is particularly noteworthy for the combination of its wooden Wehrmacht Verbandkasten construction, ordnance-tan finish, surviving red-cross identification, internal Inhaltsverzeichnis und Gebrauchsanweisung label, WaA727 Waffenamt stamp, working latches, and substantial group of original wartime medical contents. The intact label and surviving supplies provide an unusually complete view of the practical first-aid equipment carried and stored by the German military during WWII.
