Original Item: Only One Set of Two Available. This is a very nice set of German WWII Wehrmacht Medical Service Generalstabsarzt's (Staff-Surgeon General's) Schulterstücken (Shoulderboards) with a single star in line with a Rod of Asclepius (Universal Medical Symbol). A Staff-Surgeon General was roughly equivalent in rank to a German Heer (Army) Generalleutnant or the U.S. Major General (Two Star Rank). In the Wehrmacht medical service, this rank is second only to the Generaloberstabsarzt (Senior Staff-Surgeon General) in rank.
The Shoulder boards are in great shape, with vibrant red felt backing, with just a bit of moth nipping in the nap of the fabric. The silver Russia braid is excellent, with great color and held between between two braided cords of gold bullion, which have faded slightly. There are also still remnants of the stitches that held these to the uniform present, and the imprint of the buttons, so these were definitely once worn on a uniform.
Very hard to find, these are ready to display!
