Item Description

Original Items: Only One Set Available. This is an exceptionally high quality stainless steel Waffen-SS Mess Hall flatware set manufactured by W. Seibel, Besteckfabrik (cutlery factory) in Mettmann, Rheinland, a known maker of German WWII cutlery. Their trademark "Four Leaf Clover logo is on all three pieces, as well as OXYDEX ROSTFREI (Oxydex Rust-Free).

They are also marked ORIGINAL OLYMPIA, and with the ᛋᛋ doppelte Siegrune (Double Sig/Victory Rune) followed by Reich on the reverse. The obverse of the fork and spoon is unmarked, with a sleek and contemporary design along the necks and handles. "SS Reich" marked flatware would have been standard Mess hall/Dining flatware for SS Barracks, Camps and Posts.

All 3 items are in lovely condition and still display all markings and stamps prominently with deep stamping present on the “SS Reich” markings. These would be a wonderful addition for collections based on cutlery of the NSDAP and SS. Comes ready to display!

The SS (Schutzstaffel - 'Protection Squadron') was originally formed in 1925, ostensibly to act as a small, loyal bodyguard unit to protect the Führer, Adolf H. Under the direction of the Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler, the SS grew to be the most ruthless and feared organization of the 20th century. They were the vanguard of NSDAP and eventually controlled nearly every function of German life and much of Occupied Europe.

When WWII began in earnest, the SS-Verfügungstruppe (SS-VT) (SS Dispositional Troops) became the Waffen-SS ("Armed SS"), an official military branch of the SS organization. Its formations included men from NSDAP ruled Germany, along with volunteers and conscripts from both occupied and unoccupied lands.
