Original Item: Only One Available. This is an original German WWII Waffen-SS tropical EM/NCO M41 overseas cap Totenkopf insignia, executed in BeVo woven construction on a black rayon backing. Measuring approximately 1 9/16" wide by 1 7/8" high, it retains its full factory roll backing and shows no visible evidence of ever having been sewn to a cap.

The insignia depicts the Waffen-SS Totenkopf, or Death’s Head, in a light tan to gold colored thread associated with tropical uniform insignia. The skull is highly detailed, with clearly defined teeth, eye sockets, nasal opening, and cranial sutures.

BeVo woven insignia were produced by machine using tightly controlled thread patterns rather than conventional surface embroidery. This manufacturing method allowed fine details to be incorporated into relatively thin and flexible insignia suitable for uniform and headgear application.

The woven pattern, tooth arrangement, skull sutures, and overall design correspond closely with other period examples of this tropical cap insignia pattern.

The black rayon backing remains in its original unfolded factory roll configuration. The edges were never folded beneath for installation, and no stitch holes or sewing traces are visible.

These features strongly suggest that the insignia was never issued or installed. As this conclusion is based on physical condition rather than documented factory provenance, it is best described as apparently unissued.
