  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is a totally original authentic German WWII Wehrmacht Heer Army Camp Flag, measuring a nice displayable 28" x 43". It was captured in the field, and then ;was signed by about 10 people, probably the members of the company that captured it.

    The names are:

    A.C. WYNN
    RAY SOUZA
    JOHN BARR
    "SPEEDY"
    LT. HIGGS
    LOU FRAY
    W. ROSE
    DOC BROWN
    "PICKEL" DORR
    B. THOMS
    L.C. SMITH

We are not sure whether "Speedy" refers to one of the names around it, or is a separate individual. We do not know which unit these servicemen were a a part of, and leave this as an excellent research opportunity.

The design of the camp flag is essentially a smaller version of the standard NSDAP party flag, with a large Swas (Hook Cross or Swas) in the center of a white circle on a red field. This example looks to be made of linen and cotton, the standard materials for flags of the period.

Condition is very good, with the expected age toning, and a few small stains. The construction is multi-piece, with sewn on white circles on each side. Of interest however is that the rear is reversed, which we rarely see.

A very nice small USGI Captured German flag, ready to display!
