Original Item: Only One Set Available. This is a very nice partial German WWII Funeral Sash, brought back from the war along with a small cloth NSDAP Party flag. The sash is made of the usual rayon partial synthetic fiber, while the flag is cotton.
Funeral sashes were displayed during funerals for members of the various NSDAP-related organizations, as well as soldiers. During the funeral they would often be draped over a wreath, and after burial were placed on top the plants and flowers placed over the grave. Typically they measured around 2 meters in length, and were double ended, with various organizations marked on the fabric. If it was a sash for a particular subordinate organization like the DAF, that emblem would appear on one end. Both ends would have a bullion fringe.
The sash that we have here is a cut off example, as they were usually secured, so to get them home they needed to be cut off. This is how they are usually seen, and complete examples are relatively rare. It has the correct bullion fringe, and is marked with a black Swas on a white field, which is a separate piece sewn on. It measures approximately 38 inches, not counting the fringe. The printing on the sash is still clear:

This sash was used for the funeral of someone who was apparently involved with Trolleys in the Bockum area, which is a northeastern district of Krefeld in Westphalia. We unfortunately have not been able to find out much more information.
The small NSDAP Flag measures about 7 1/2" x 9 1/2", and is the standard red with a printed black Swas on a white field. It is in good condition, though it looks like the header was torn off, and there is overall wear and fabric fraying at the edges.
