Original German WWII USGI Bring Back NSDAP Vertical Banner - 60" x 131"

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is an extra large size very good condition WWII German National Flag vertical banner, which measures a very substantial 60 inches wide by 131 inches long. Just shy of 5 ft by 11 ft! Due to the size, we were not able to take a photo of the entire flag at once. These were used inside buildings for the most part, as indicated by the lack of a sturdy canvas header. It is of all cotton construction, and is double sided with a single piece cotton white circles with dyed black Swasses (Hook Crosses) sewn onto both sides.

This may have been a banner originally, however a halyard with a hook on the top has been sewn into the hanger sleeve from one end to another, with more than 6 feet of rope coming out the bottom. It also looks to have been brought back by a USGI, as the corner has ART. KANT / MARCH 1. "45" written onto it.

Condition is very good, with the expected wear from use. There are a few stains, and some scattered small holes on the main body of the flag. The white circles on each side have moderate age toning, so they are now an eggshell color.

This would be a perfect background for a WWII German wall display!

The NSDAP, Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, (National Socialist German Worker’s Party), was originally founded in Munich as the DAP, Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, (German Worker’s Party), on January 5TH 1919. When Adolf AH joined the DAP in the autumn of 1919 he was to reform what was basically a debating society into an active political party. Appointed as the first chairman of the party on July 29TH 1921 AH was to restructure it along para-military lines in a hierarchy of four levels of government.
