Original German WWII USGI Bring Back Brown Leather Holster Decorated with Many Pins & Insignia

Item Description

Original Items: Only One Available. USGI bring back captured items really are a varied lot. Some are just as they were when obtained, however some, such as this one, were transformed into very nice collector's pieces, perfect for the USGI to use to remember his time overseas.

This wonderful brown Leather flap top holster is is a relatively large size, looking to be for one of the larger magazine-fed semi-automatic pistols in use by Germany during WWII. It is unmarked, but we assume that it is of German manufacture. The size of the spare magazine pouch is quite long, so it may be for a "Kongsberg Colt" or other similar sized pistol.

The holster is in very nice service worn condition, with the expected wear and deterioration from age and use. It has been decorated with a lovely assortment of pins and insignia, which look to be mostly German WWII, with possibly some Imperial German items. Some of these are unidentified, while others are "Tinnies" and event pins.

The items that we can identify are:

- TWO German WWII Late War NSDAP Membership Pins with opaque enamel.
- THREE German WWII Luftwaffe "gull wing" collar tab devices
- FOUR German Shoulder Board "Pip" insignia of varying sizes
- One German WWII "Hindenberg Cross" with Swords medal bar pin
- One German WWII Pioneer Flag Pin
- A "hunting horn" pin

There are also various small items and tinnies which we have not been able to identify. Looking at the holster there also were at least 4 items that have been lost over the years.

The USGI who brought this back may have spent some time post war, which allowed him to pick up these items, which makes this almost like a "hate" or "gravedigger" holster. Very interesting and ready to research and display!
