Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice unissued example of a German WWII SS tropical sleeve eagle, complete with its original paper RZM tag. The insignia is BeVo woven on a black rayon backing, with the eagle rendered in a slightly tan shade associated with insignia intended for tropical uniforms.

The eagle is finely detailed, with outstretched wings, its head facing toward the viewer’s right, and a wreathed swas held in its talons. The insignia measures approximately 4⅛ by 2 inches.

The surrounding black backing material remains unfolded, indicating that the insignia was never sewn onto a uniform. There is some wrinkling, together with a hole and additional damage near the upper edge, possibly caused by moth activity during storage.

The reverse retains its original paper RZM tag. The label displays an A tax code, the circular ((RZM)) emblem, and the ᛋᛋ doppelte Siegrune, or double Sig rune emblem. It identifies the Hersteller, or manufacturer, by the code:

Unissued SS tropical sleeve eagles are desirable in their own right, but the survival of the original numbered RZM paper tag makes this a particularly complete example. The unfolded backing clearly shows how the insignia appeared before being prepared and sewn onto a uniform.
