Original German WWII SS Allgemeine Other Ranks Visor Cap - Dated 1936
Original Item: Only One Available. Early 1936 dated German Allemeine SS "Other Ranks" Schirmmütze Visor Cap in size 58. This "other ranks" cap is the very rare early type with the large RZM tag affixed to the top panel of the interior.
The body is produced in black wool that is in near excellent condition with some minor wear and a few tiny nips to the top panel. The white wool piping also has some minor discolorations and a few nips. All of this is minor, and does nothing to take away from this very handsome cap.
The center band is produced in black badge cloth and in very good condition. The nickel silver finished insignia are in wonderful crisp condition. The eagle is marked M1/72 (Zimmerman) and the skull we have not tried to remove. The black leather chinstrap is very good. The black vulkanfibre visor has some very minor crazing but is otherwise in great condition. The underside is finished in an orange/brown hue and has the distinctive black rune "RZM" ink stamp. The visor is punched STAFF.
The interior top panel is finished in orange/brown oil cloth while the remainder of the interior is finished in orange/brown cloth. There is a diamond shaped moisture shield that is fully intact. The gold silk screened symbol are fully intact. There is a black cloth tag under the moisture shield. It reads:
(By Order of the Reichsführer SS) and has encircled symbol and RZM motto. The size is ink stamped to the lining and indicates this is a nice large size 58. The sweatband has some very minor discoloration and wear from use. Underneath is a large, white oil cloth (early) RZM tag which has the maker number 28 (with further research #28 identifies the specific maker). Boldly stamped to the underside of the sweatband is G.J. / 1936. A top quality, early cap, that is in near excellent condition.
