Original German WWII Square Dip M1934 Luftschutz Air Defense Helmet

Original Items: Only one set available. This is an very nice original M1934 Luftschutz German helmet. The Air Protection Warning Service (Luftschutzwarndienst-LSW) was a civilian organization whose purpose it was to alert the population of impending air raid attacks. Volunteers were required to purchase their own helmets from various retail locations. However, the "Gladiator" style helmets were often in short supply, so surplus M1934 Civic "Square Dip" helmets were used as well. These were usually issued to various fire and police units, but were lightweight and available.
The exterior of this German helmet retains about 95% of the original dark blue paint and the Luftschutz decal is 95% complete. Comes with complete rubberized fabric liner and cork washers still intact and tight with all split pins. The leather chin strap unfortunately has broken and been repaired in several locations.
Overall an excellent condition WWII German Civilian issue helmet.
