Original German WWII Small Photo Projector Diafant Model I by L.W. Reiser in Case - Kleinbildwerfer

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available.  This is a very nice German WWII Era Marked Kleinbildwerfer Diafant Modell I, or Small Photo Projector "Diafant Model 1", manufactured by L.W. Reiser of Munich. These projectors can project slides in small picture format (5 x 5 cm external dimensions) and 35 mm film strips (picture tape). From what we can see, the projector is mostly complete, though we have not tested it for functionality.

The data plate on the projector gives the manufacturers name, location, and telephone number:

in Unterrich, Wissenschaft u. Technik
Tel. 10862 u. 18067

Per the data plate, L.W. Reiser was a maker of "Projection-cinematography-photography for use in teaching, science and technology", located in Munich. The unit is in its correct case measuring 18" by 15" by 5", with the instructions mounted on the inside lid. The unit operates on 250 watts, 50 volts, with 5 amp lamps.

Both the projector and the electrical unit are identified with an aluminum plate with a NSDAP Reichsadler state eagle, as well as serial number 39L/ 20005. We assume that this means it was accepted in 1939, but unfortunately we have not been able to confirm this.

The power cord, several slide holders, and an empty lamp box are included. Condition of all the items is excellent, with the main issue being the damage to the latches of the case, one of which is bent and does not lock correctly.

An excellent piece of Third Reich memorabilia, unlikely to be encountered again. Ready to display!
