Original Item. Only One Available. This is a tremendous civilian market Siemens R8 German 8mm movie camera retailed by Ballin & Rabe located at Halle S, Adolf H***** Ring 14 Hӓndelsrt. 1 / Delitzscherstr. 94. The camera retains its hand strap along with its original velvet-lined carry case with its original leather carry strap. The case itself has broken on one side so the lid side retains no stitching, but thankfully the latch at the front of the flap still works, so the case displays complete. There is a spare lens in the lid but we could not remove it.
The camera appears functional, with the button at the front that spins the wheel on the interior still functional! This wheel is marked to Siemens and would have held film. There is no film with the set so we have no idea if it functions.
The Adolf street name on the maker’s plaque is a great aspect that dates this to the mid-to-late 1930s or 1940s.
