Original Item: Only One Set of 2 Available. Here we have a very nice set of two WWII German Wehrmacht Heer (Army) EM/NCO's Buckles (Koppelschloßen), which really help show the range of various construction styles used during the war. Both are correctly embossed with the Heer motto GOTT MIT UNS ("God with us") in a double rope border surrounding a "Closed Wing" Wehrmachtadler Armed Forces Eagle. Below this is a partial oak leaf wreath.
The first buckle in the set is made from a stamped pebbled aluminum body, which has the insignia has a separate piece held onto the buckle body by tabs on the back. It has a steel belt clip, which shows significant oxidation. Overall in very good condition, showing wear consistent with service.
The second example is a painted steel construction type with a smooth background. It was originally painted field gray on both sides, but wear and polishing have removed most of the original paint from the front. The belt buckle is marked B & N 41 by the retaining loop, and still has the leather tab, which still gives the full maker information:
