Original Item: Only One Set of Three Available. This is a very nice set of three small German WWII NSDAP Wimpelen (Pennants) , which show a lovely variety of construction and hanging styles. Smaller pennants like these were often hung from residences, vehicles, and other places not suitable for a larger flag.
The smallest of the pennants measures 6" in hoist by 8 1/4" in fly, and is made from two pieces of fabric sewn together. Both sides are printed the NSDAP national emblem, a red field with a black swas in a white circle. It shows some age toning and scattered staining, as well as a few small holes.
The middle pennant in size measures 6 3/4" in hoist by 10 1/4" in fly, and is made from a single piece red field with a white header on the hoist side. Both sides have a stitched on insignia consisting of a white circle with a printed black swas. It shows age toning, as well as wear and holes on both of the sewn on insignia.
The largest of the pennants measures 7" in hoist by 11" in fly, and is made from two pieces of red fabric sewn together, probably with additional layers between. Each side has an a white circular insignia with an embroidered black swas on it. It has a white header on the hoist end, which is sewn around a halyard, however it was cut off close to the edges. The edges of the rest of the pennant have a white twisted rope border. The pennant shows some wear and staining.
A very nice set of three, ready to add to your collection!
The National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, abbreviated NSDAP), commonly known in English as the NSDAP Party, was a political party in Germany between 1919 and 1945. It was known as the German Workers' Party (DAP) before the name was changed in 1920.
The party's last leader, Adolf AH, was appointed Chancellor of Germany by president Paul von Hindenburg in 1933. AH rapidly established a totalitarian regime known as the Third Reich.
