  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is a lovely set German WWII period porcelain items, manufactured during the NSDAP period to act as decorative items, though they possibly could have been used if wanted. It was very important to the National Socialist Party that they became part of every day German life.

There are six items in this set, which include:

    ● One saucer for a tea cup or coffee mug, white with an ornate gold border showing flowers including the Edelweiß flower, a mountain flower of great importance to the Mountain troops of Germany and Austria. In the center of the saucer is an image of the Braunes Haus / München (Brown House, Munich), the headquarters of the NSDAP from 1930 onwards. It measures about 5 3/8" inches in diameter, and is not maker marked on the back.

    ● One Decorative Wall Plate measuring approximately 8 5/8 inches across, marked Weihnachten 1941 (Christmas 1941) at the top, over an image of Strasbourg Cathedral. This cathedral was located in the contested territory of Alsace-Lorraine, and became a part of Germany after the fall of France in 1940. The reverse has the title Straßburger Münſter (Strassbourg Minster), where "minster" is a title given to churches of particular importance. It is maker marked on the bottom with the maker logo of Rosenthal of Selb, a Bavarian maker of fine porcelain that exists even today. There is even the original Rosenthall sticker, and the metal hanger on the back is still present.

    ● One Deep Plate measuring approximately 8 1/2 inches across, with Spielschar der N.S. Frauenschaft / Weihnachten 1938 (Drama Group of the NS Women's League / Christmas 1938) around the edge. The center a member of the organization in a nature scene, looking to be reading to or working with members of the BDM / JM. There is no maker marking on the back.

The various porcelain items show wear from use, but no major damage such as cracks or repaired chunks. A perfect starter set for anyone looking to get into German WWII era porcelain!
