Original German WWII Set of Three Dagger or Sword Leather Hanger Clips with Metal Fittings

Original Items: Only One Set of Three Available. Here we have a lovely set of three leather hanger clips for German WWII Daggers or Swords. There were numerous styles available during the war, made to interface with the large number of different knives, daggers, swords, and other edged weapons issued as ceremonial pieces. Some were designed to attach to the belt, but many were designed to attach to the uniform, which had a strap on the inside left, as well as a large "eyelet" in the left waist pocket, where the hanger clip would be attached to the internal strap. Once attached, the hanger on the dagger or knife could easily be attached, and if they were wearing a sword, the hanger could be used to clip to the rectangular ring on the back to hold the sword vertical.
This lovely set consists of the following hangers, all of which have intact functional hardware:
- One Black Leather "Teardrop" shaped hanger, which could be used with the Heer Army or other organizations that used black leather gear. The clip looks to possibly be nickel alloy, while the stud and end rectangular loop are plated iron or steel.
- One Textured Blue Leather "Teardrop" shaped hanger, with pebbled aluminum hardware, almost certainly intended for Luftwaffe use. This hanger has a small belt loop with a D-ring, though it is very narrow, and we do not know what type of belt it would be able to attach to.
- One short brown leather hanger, with a small belt loop at the top. The hardware is plated steel.
A great set of hangers that would be a lovely acquisition for any collector of German WWII Edged Weapons.
