Original German WWII Set of 10 Cigarette Holders - Some with SS Markings
-
Original Item: Only One Set Available. Well this is something we haven't had before, and definitely is a remnant of a bygone time. Very few today use cigarette holders, however during the days of unfiltered cigarettes that were not tightly packed or contained, using a holder was a good option. It prevented the cigarette from getting wet and being crushed by lip pressure.
This set of ten German WWII cigarette holders shows a nice variety of the different types that could be made. Eight are made from wood, while two are the paper, and they measure between 3 and 3 1/2 inches. All of them have some type of marking, with some marked WHW, while others are marked "Heil AH", and others are marked D.R.G.M. (Deutsches Reiches Gebrauchs Musterschutz) - meaning it is a protected patented design under the German Government. One even has the full name and address of the maker Ernst Knüpfer.
Three of these however only bears one marking: ᛋᛋ inside a diamond, indicating these were inspected specifically for SS Use. Two are stamped into the wood, while one has an ink stamp. The Schutzstaffel (SS) had their own supply chains during WWII, and these three cigarette holders are all wooden, and of high quality.
A very interesting collection of WWII memorabilia, ready to display! Definitely NOT for USE!
