Original Item: Only One Available. Recently purchased at a militaria show is this genuine USGI bring back German WWII NSDAP Podium banner. Unlike most that we see, this one shows real period service fading and wear, and doesn't look to have been one that was found in a drawer after the war. The National Socialist German Workers' Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, abbreviated NSDAP), commonly known in English as the NSDAP Party, was a political party in Germany between 1919 and 1945. It was known as the German Workers' Party (DAP) before the name was changed in 1920.

The party's last leader, Adolf AH, was appointed Chancellor of Germany by president Paul von Hindenburg in 1933. AH rapidly established a totalitarian regime known as the Third Reich.

The banner is single sided and of multi-piece construction, with a printed black swas (hook cross) in white canvas circle (one piece) stitched onto the red cotton background. Around this is a stitched on light canvas square white border on three sides, and there is a white rayon fringe sewn onto the bottom, along with some lead weights in fabric on the back to help it hang better. It measures 38" x 43" not counting the fringe on the bottom, and there is no hanging slot on the top, so it was most likely intended to be attached directly to the podium. There have been some hanging strings attached to the top instead.

The banner is offered in wonderful service worn condition, with a lot of fading on the front side. There is also some staining up on the top, possibly where the front of the podium was. The white sections have the expected age toning from wear and light exposure. The rear of the banner has almost no fading, so this was displayed for quite some time.
