Original German WWII Service Worn NSDAP National Flag Small Political Banner Flag - 30" x 56"

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice service worn condition WWII German National Banner, which measures a very displayable 30 inches wide by 56 inches long. These were displayed on buildings, on podiums during speeches, or sometimes even hung up at camps. It looks to be of all cotton construction, and is double sided with a single piece cotton white circles with black Swasen (Hook Crosses or Swass) dyed onto both sides.

Condition is good, with a very lightly worn look both sides of the banner. It has a few small stains, but does not have much age toning or fading. There are also some small tears, holes, and areas of wear through as shown. The hanging sleeve header has somewhat regular holes in it, which may have been where it was tacked up at one point.  Loads of history on this banner!

The NSDAP, Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, (National Socialist German Worker’s Party), was originally founded in Munich as the DAP, Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, (German Worker’s Party), on January 5TH 1919. When Adolf AH joined the DAP in the autumn of 1919 he was to reform what was basically a debating society into an active political party. Appointed as the first chairman of the party on July 29TH 1921 AH was to restructure it along para-military lines in a hierarchy of four levels of government.
