  • Original Items: Only One Set Available. This is a very nice collection of German WWII Insignia & Awards, which was brought back from the European theater by a USGI after the war was concluded. Many solders traded these on the way back, and would end up with a pocket full of various different collectible items, and this set represents the typical "haul" one might have come back with. It includes some a wide variety of medals and insignia, including a War Merit Cross, Luftwaffe insignia, and more!

    This lovely set includes:

    - One German WWII Iron Cross 2nd Class 1939 (Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse 1939) with Ribbon. This is a well patinated example, showing oxidation and weathering on both sides. It looks like it was suspended for a time on a chain similar to a lamp pull chain.

    - One German WWII War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords. The medal has a lovely mellow patina, showing only minor surface oxidation.

    - One German German WWII Silver Grade General Assault Badge (Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen). This example is in lovely shape, with the only real issue being that the pin catch on the back is missing.

    - One German WWII Infantry Assault Badge (Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen). This example is missing both the pin and the catch, with only the hinge remaining, and is definitely well patinated. This makes it impossible to tell whether it is a silver or bronze grade badge.

    - One German WWII Kriegsmarine Minesweeper War Badge. This still has some of the silver wash on the "splash", but the rest shows a dark oxidized patina. The back is missing the pin catch, and the pin has been bent.

    - One German WWII 3rd Class Black Wound Badge (Verwundetenabzeichen in Schwarz). This is an early stamped brass example of the black wound badge, which has lost almost all of the original black finish. These were awarded for 1 or 2 wounds during service. It is somewhat crushed around the edges, and the pin catch is missing.

    - One German WWII German WWII 2nd Class 25 Year Civil Service Faithful Service Medal. This is missing the ribbon, and has lost much of the original civil wash.

    - One German Pre-WWII Soldatenbund Aluminum Cap Eagle Insignia. The Soldatenbund (Registered Soldier’s League) was an early Veteran's association founded in 1936, which proved to be very short lived. The insignia features a Reichsadler National Eagle surmounted by crossed swords and an Iron Cross

A wonderful totally genuine grouping perfect for the German Medal and Insignia collector, especially those who appreciate some real period wear. Ready to research and display!
