Original Item: Only One Available. This is a genuine restored German WWII manufactured T.Mi.35 S (Stahl) mine with original fuse and multiple German wartime markings. It is BATF compliant and totally inert. Also included is an original fuse that can be removed from the mine by unscrewing. The base plate and carry handle are both entirely gone, so the bottom of the mine is hollow with no bottom. Like all deactivated ordnance, this mine is Not Available for Export.
The mine has been entirely repainted with reproduced markings added. The body is very faintly stamped with btc 42, denoting 1942 manufacture by Honsel Werke A.-G., Meschede.
The top of the fuze is stamped:
ЯR493 1940
(Waffenamt)
WaA634
The double R marking with one reversed is the logo of Richard Rinker G.m.b.H. in Menden/Iserlohn, the sole manufacturer allowed by the Treaty of Versailles to make grenades after WW1. Once rearmament was underway, they had many subcontractors, and 493 may indicate which factory produced this mine. The fuse indicates 1940 manufacture by another Richard Rinker Factory. There is also a Waffenant proof on the top of the fuse below this marking.
The rest of the mine is entirely repainted and refurbished.
A great restored example, ready for display.
The Tellermine 35 (steel) (fig. 67) is 12 1/2 inches in diameter and 3 1/2 inches in high. It weighs 19 pounds, including 11 pounds of explosive. It differs from the Tellermine 35 in that it has a fluted pressure plate to keep the sand covering from blow-ing off in desert areas; booster charges surround the fuze wells; and a threaded pressure plug conceals the main fuze, if it is a Tellermine fuze 42 (par. 16) or 43 (par 33). This pressure plug is not used if the mine is fitted with the Tellermine fuze 35 (par. 15).
This mine is used in road blocks and defense systems. It was specifically designed for use in desert countries where prevailing winds shift the sandy soil. A pressure of 200 pounds, or more, on the pressure plug or the pressure plate actuates the fuze and fires the detonator, the booster charge, and the main charge. Unscrewing the pressure plug will also cause the mine to function.
