Original German WWII SA Dagger RZM M7/37 by Robert Klaas
Original Item: Only One Available. This mid-war period produced SA Dagger has nickel-plated fittings throughout. The crossguards and tang nut are in very good condition throughout with all fittings still having their brightness. There is a little age to these mounts but there is no lifting anywhere.
The grip is a fine product having a subtle mahogany tone in the surfaces and having medium center ridge construction. This grip is in very good condition and fits the crossguard like a glove. The symbol button is nicely set having 95% intact enameling. The nickel grip eagle is a fine example being the style with beak that points upward slightly. The details are still there to the eagle to include the beak, breast feathering, wing feathering, talons, wreath and mobile swas.
The scabbard shell is straight throughout and has excellent original chocolate brown paint. This paint has a little bit of crazing in the surfaces but overall it is still bright and rates at about 98%. The scabbard shell is equipped with fine matching nickel-plated steel based mounts. These mounts are in perfect condition to include the lower ball. They nicely match the crossguards and are complete with all four dome head screws.
The blade of this example is still bright and has most of its crossgraining. There are some stains in the surfaces but they do look fairly superficial and possibly most of it could come out with a little work with some semi chrome. This is a nice blade nonetheless and at this point certainly grades at very good plus.
The SA motto is crisp and also still has much of the blackening in the backgrounds. The reverse ricasso is etched with a double circle having a shaded center with RZM in the middle. This circle is placed over the code for Robert Klaas being, "M7/37".
A very nice mid-war example of an SA dagger from a top maker.
