Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very good service used condition example of a German WWII Schutzpolizei (Protection police) EM-NCO M38 overseas cap (Schiffchen). The overseas cap, nicknamed in German military slang as Schiffchen, or literally "little ship" as it resembled an up-turned row-boat, was standard issue for for all military and many of the civic organizations of the NSDAP as well.
This example is constructed of a dark navy blue wool exterior, with a black cotton lining marked with size 56. It features a fine BeVo style machine embroidered Civic Police Eagle trapezoid emblem on the front right crown.
Condition of this cap is very good, with a few small moth nips, and only light wear to the exterior shell. Much of the fuzzy "nap" on the exterior is missing, except under the side flaps. The interior shows moderate period service wear, with the top seam stiffener protruding a bit at one end. Ready to add to your collection!
