Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice 1936 Officers pattern Tschako, with the late pattern police green wool body and black leather trim. It has as very fine quality police officer eagle with aluminum cockade (often missing) and black leather chinstrap. A great Polizei helmet (shako) as used by the metropolitan police! Unlike some of the more common ones found trimmed in brown for rural police, this one is with black trim for the municipal police.
The interior is in great shape, and unlike the standard issued versions, this one has a very upmarket Silk skullcap liner with a leather sweatband, identical in style to those used in officer's pickelhaubes during the German Empire period. We see no evidence that this is not original, and given that it was made by the famed EREL company, for a custom item, there is little that wasn't possible. There is no size marked, but it seems to be about a size 56cm / US 7.
The shako is maker on the inner dome top:

The mesh vents are in very good condition, and are the simple type without a slide closure. The exterior does show age and wear, particularly the black patent leather, which has had the finish degrade somewhat. The stitching on the front visor is also partly rotted out. The original chinstrap is still intact, and as expected is stiff due to age and drying out.
Overall it is offered in great display condition, from one of Germany's best manufactures of the time! Ready to display!
