Original Item. One-of-a-Kind. This is a really gorgeous trench art lighter made by a Prisoner of War during World War II. The lighter is dated 9-5-1944 for May 9th, 1944, and depicts palm trees and a lighthouse. The lighter measures 2⅜ x ½ x ⅞”.
The side of the lighter reads:
VAN NEST
P.W. CAMP 131
We’re unsure if this is the name of the camp or the name of the soldier, but this makes for a great research project! Comes ready for further research and display.
