Original German WWII Polish Radom Pistol Black Leather Holster by Otto Stephan, Mühlhausen - Pistolet wz. 35 Vis

Item Description

Original Item: Only One available. This is an excellent condition unissued German WWII Holster for the Polish Radom Pistolet wz. 35 Vis, widely used after German invasion and occupation of Poland during the wars leading up to WWII. It is clearly marked under the top flap with gaq 4, for manufacture by Otto Stephan, Leder- u. Lederwarenfabrik (Leather & Leatherware Factory) located in Mühlhausen, Thüringen in Germany. We are not sure whether the 4 is the first number of the date, or the second, so we cannot conclusively date the holster. The other side of the flap is marked with P 35 (p), the abbreviation for the German designation of the pistol, Pistole 35(p).

The holster is made of quality black leather, has a pocket on the front for a spare Radom 9mm magazine and has two belt loops to rear. The holster shows little to no sign of use, with all of the wear appearing to be from age and storage. The black finish is nearly complete, and there is no tearing or other issues with the leather or stitching.

In wonderful unissued condition, ready to use or display!

The FB Vis (Polish designation pistolet wz. 35 Vis, German designation 9 mm Pistole 35(p), or simply the Radom in English sources) is a 9×19mm caliber, single-action, semi-automatic pistol. Its design was inspired by American firearms inventor John Browning's 9mm "Browning GP" pistol which was completed after Browning's death by designers at Fabrique Nationale in Herstal Belgium. Production of the Vis began at the Fabryka Broni arms factory in Radom in 1935, and was adopted as the standard handgun of the Polish Army the following year. The pistol was valued by the Germans and towards the end of the war issued to German paratroopers. Largely based on the Colt 1911 and using 9 mm rounds, the Vis is highly prized among collectors of firearms.
