Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice WWII German Polizei (Police) NCO's Pebbled Aluminum Belt Buckle (Koppelschloß) with correct leather belt. It is embossed with a central swas (hook cross), with a wreath around it bearing the motto Gott mit uns (God with us). Nice single piece aluminum construction box buckle with a pebbled background. The buckle is in very good condition, with all the pebbling in good condition, and most of the details in the wreath still present. The buckle is clearly marked on the back with C. T. D., the initials of Christian Theodor Dicke of Lüdenscheid. This is a city with a large garment accessories industry. There is no leather tab on the buckle, so it was most likely made after 1941, when the use of tabs was discontinued.
The belt itself measures about 37” when fully extended, and is marked 85 on one end, for 85 cm, or 33.5 inches, so it may have stretched somewhat over the years. The leather is in solid condition, with no tears or major cracks, and a nice black finish on the exterior. The black lack leather indicates the belt was for for the Ordnungspolizei (Order Police), the Schutzpolizei (Protection Police), or the Gemeindepolizei (Local Municipal Police), personnel.
Overall a great example of a hard to find WW2 German Belt.
