Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very good condition WWII German Polizei (Police) NCO's Pebbled Belt Buckle (Koppelschloß) with correct leather belt. It is embossed with a central swas (hook cross), with a wreath around it bearing the motto Gott mit uns (God with us). It features a nice crimpled pebbled zinc body with an aluminized paint finish, which has an aluminum medallion insignia attached to the front. The buckle is in very good condition, with all the pebbling in good condition, and most of the details in the wreath still present. There is no maker mark that we can see on the buckle.
The belt itself measures about 38” when fully extended, and is really still in great shape, with the brown finish well retained. It is marked 95 on the buckle end, for 95cm (37.4 inches), and still retains the leather tab with a double row of 7 holes for size adjustment. The stitches are actually "hidden" so they don't show through on the front of the belt, definitely a higher class appointment. The belt has a clear maker mark on the bottom of the attachment tab, which reads:
LÜNESCHLOSS
(Runic L Symbol)
SOLINGEN
CROUPON
The "Triple L" Neo-Runic logo is for maker Ewald Lüneschloss of Solingen, a military outfitter during the 20th century. "Croupon" is a specific area of leather, which is known to be more durable and therefore desirable. The brown leather finish indicates that the belt was for the Gendarmerie (Rural Police) or Polizeibeamten (Police Officials) personnel.
Overall a great example of a hard to find WW2 German Belt.
