Original Item. Only One Available. This is a scarcely seen WWII Pioneer/Vehicle shovel that still retains its original length handle. This model of shovel was also used during World War I by Imperial German pioneer troops with almost no differences. This example is in very good condition, and unlike most does not look to have been repainted many times. Due to this we can still partially read the markings on the shovel, which are on the upper right front of the blade. There is a round maker's mark, a 2 in a Triangle, 14/2958, and K5 in a row. We unfortunately have not been able to identify these markings, and leave them as a future research project for the purchaser.
These are extremely difficult to find in any condition, and are normally heavily cut down. But this one has managed to stay intact, and does not look to have seen extensive post war use as these often do. It is 43 ½” in overall length, with a blade measuring approximately 9" by 9". Judging by the construction and condition, we believe this shovel to be WWII production. Comes ready for further research and display.
