  • Original Item: Only One Available. This is an especially appealing original German WWII Panzerfaust 30 Klein, or Faustpatrone klein 30 m, complete with its deactivated rocket and retaining substantial original Dunkelgelb dark yellow paint together with important remnants of the original launcher warning labels. As one of the earliest Panzerfaust types, this compact single use anti-tank weapon has considerable collector interest, particularly when found with both launcher and projectile together and with so much of the original finish still present.

The Panzerfaust is one of the “throw away” rocket launcher used by German forces during WWII, and is spent with no propellent charge present. The rocket is also totally inert, having been deactivated per BATF specifications. The launcher tube is totally inert and incapable of firing, as it is a single use non-reloadable item. Used launchers such as this are "expended ordnance" which "are not classified as a "firearm" or "destructive device"" by the BATF once used, and "therefore, they are not subject to GCA or NFA provisions."

Unloaded or dummy grenades, artillery shell casings, and similar devices, which are cut or drilled in an BATF-approved manner so that they cannot be used as ammunition components for destructive devices, are not considered NFA weapons. This example is in total compliance and is NOT AVAILABLE FOR EXPORT.

Panzerfaust 30 klein ("small") or Faustpatrone (Translated literally to mean: Tank Fist Small) was the original version of the Panzerfaust. First delivered in August 1943 with a total weight of 3.2 kilograms (7.1 lb) and overall length of 98.5 cm (38.8 in). The 30 was indicative of the nominal maximum range of 30 m (33 yd). It had a 3.3 cm (1.3 in) diameter tube containing 54 grams (1.9 oz) of black powder propellant launching a 10 cm (3.9 in) warhead carrying 400 g (14 oz) of explosive. The projectile traveled at just 30 m (98 ft) per second and could penetrate 140 mm (5.5 in) of armor.

This ingenious throw away Rocket and Launcher was one of AH's last ditch weapons adopted by the NSDAPs to try and repel the invading Allies on both the Eastern and Western fronts. "Most authors agree that production of the Panzerfaust Klein was halted somewhere in early 1944, due to its insufficient penetration of armor and replaced by the larger model."

The original leaf sight and plunger trigger assembly are still present, though the trigger is immobile, and the pivot pin for the sight leaf is missing, so it falls off easily. The rocket head has been emptied of explosives, and it still retains the steel tail, which can be unscrewed from the warhead to examine the empty chamber, as well as the shape charge liner, which directs the explosive force forward. All four of the metal rocket fins are present, though all are slightly bent, and one is cracked partly through.

Both the tube and the rocket have lots of the original dunkelgelb (dark yellow) tan paint, showing wear from age and use, with some of it worn away down to the black primer coat from exposure. There are traces of the original label on the rocket, but more importantly, there is still about 40% of the original warning labels on the launcher, which originally read:

⬅ Starker Feuerstrahl Vorsicht! Starker Feuerstrahl ➡

This translates to "Caution! Powerful jet of fire", and the arrows at both ends are still visible.

Here is a very rare chance to own an original panzerfaust 30 klein rocket and launcher set in really choice condition. Ready to display!

For the German WWII ordnance or anti-tank weapons collector, this is an especially desirable early Panzerfaust grouping. The combination of the original Panzerfaust 30 Klein launcher and inert projectile, substantial surviving Dunkelgelb finish, approximately 40% of the original launcher warning label, original sight and trigger components, complete fin assembly, and visible shaped charge liner gives the set exceptional display and study value. As a substantially complete example of the earliest production Panzerfaust type, it would form a centerpiece in an advanced German WWII ordnance, infantry weapons, or anti-tank collection.
